PCE-008 - Integrating Nutrition Education in Dental Curriculum through Innovation and Partnership

Dental professionals are in a unique position to promote nutrition-counseling chairside due to the bidirectional relationship that exists between oral health and diet, yet students often feel overwhelmed and not prepared to provide this vital service. The implementation and progression of nutrition content in dental education depends on creativity, innovative strategies and partnerships. This workshop will address all components covering didactic and clinical nutrition content, interprofessional collaborative and cased-based learning. The workshop will delineate how nutrition can be spirally incorporated in all four years of dental curricula and prepare a collaborative practice ready work force, empowered to provide chairside nutrition-counseling.
