Dr. Savannah Sims is a science and health advocacy professional dedicated to bridging the gap between research and policy to advance health innovation and patient care. As Senior Manager for Global Health Research & Development Advocacy at Research!America, she leads efforts to shape policies that support health innovation, collaborating with Congressional offices, federal agencies, and other stakeholders to advocate for increased research funding. She specializes in translating complex scientific and policy issues into actionable insights.
Savannah holds a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis from West Virginia University, where she studied neuroinflammation in multiple sclerosis and stroke. She later expanded her expertise as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington University in St. Louis, researching immune responses in pediatric CNS tumors. She has presented at national and international conferences and is committed to improving transparency and communication between scientists, policymakers, and the public.
