Dr. Hinshaw is the Director of Operations in the Department of Testing Services at the American Dental Association. The Department of Testing Services (DTS) is a shared service of the ADA that provides professional examination services (e.g., test design, content development, administration, analysis, and reporting). At the direction of its governing bodies, DTS advises on policy based on testing industry best practices and professional experience, and implements policy for the orderly, secure, and fair administration of examination programs. Currently, the DTS manages four admission tests (DAT, ADAT, ATDH, OAT) and four licensure tests (NBDE Part II, INBDE, NBDHE DLOSCE), with one additional licensure test (DHLOSCE) under development.
Dr. Hinshaw is a licensed dental hygienist and a former dental hygiene program director. She has a Master's in Education (Instructional Design) from Purdue University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Hinshaw has been with the ADA for 16 years.
