Evidence-based dentistry (EBD) has a direct impact on the future of the profession to help ensure quality oral health care. EBD is an essential component of dental education and students must demonstrate competency in applying these skills to patient care. This session presents the development and implementation of a novel EBD curriculum at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, created in partnership with a global EBD leader. This session highlights our curriculum with examples of design, assessment, integration, active learning, outcomes and lessons learned. Participants will gain ideas for new opportunities to incorporate similar strategies to teach EBD at their institutions.
