Have you encountered barriers in giving feedback to your students? Our student body now comprises Generation Z, a unique set of learners born into a digital world seeking instant gratification. Providing feedback in traditional ways may be challenging or ineffective. Feedforward strategies are gathering support for their efficacy to improve student engagement, performance and accountability for self-improvement. This session will discuss the elements of feedforward, how to implement this future-oriented approach and engage neurodivergent learners. Can “feedfoward” be given before an assignment is due? Can it improve students’ comprehension and accomplishment of a task? And can it empower GenZ learners?

Learning Objectives:

Examine the attributes of Generation Z learners.
Apply elements of feedforward in dental education.
Participate in group exercises to practice feedforward.
